Discovery lack of care for patients with PMB's

I am very disappointed with how I have been treated recently with Discovery Health. I belong to the executive plan and pay R8380 a month for just myself and my son. I suffer from a PMB which is bipolar 2. I was in hospital and had only used 2 outpatient days, therefore I had 19 days to be in hospital. My psychiatrist wanted me to stay an extra 5 days due to changing my medication and me trying to take my life. I phoned discovery and they said I must apply for ex-gratia. I had to try and fill out this whole form and my life to prove I couldn't afford to pay for these extra days. Yet I was told by the hospital administrator that Discovery declined it. However I have still to this day have not been informed about the decision. What I don't understand is why do I belong to a high plan when I am not taken care of. My psychiatrist and psychologist even offered yo not charge me for there consultations in the hospital, I feel let down. I want to know why they declined it.I always have to pay co-payments for my PMB's because I can't take the generics. I had to pay a co-payment of R550.00 to the hospital that is non-refundable, I had to pay a co-payment of R10.50 for a plaster. Then all my medication came off my savings account. It makes sad because I feel that I should drop my plan because I don't really get sick often and my illness is a PMB. In all I feel is that people don't care about your health but the money. Once your days are finished in the hospital you are chased out. Now you are left with footing the bill for follow ups. Sometimes I feel like dying because it would be cheaper in the long run. The PMB's don't take care about aftercare of a hospital stay. If this was only possible then the medical aids would realise that they might have less hospital admissions the following year.
