DISCOVERY IS THE WORST MEDICAL AID. DONT TAKE IT

Honestly , if i could give discovery zero/no rating I would. Here is my story , I gave birth in a private hospital . It was a c-sec birth . I am on essential saver.the worst option ever . I am flabbergasted . So discovery paid only 23% of the total claim the gynae claimed. Apparently the option I am on that’s the rate. So for a c sec birth the rate in a private hospital to pay gynae is 4400. A whole operation discovery rate is 4400. Makes me wonder how much they pay for a natural birth , I am sure they pay 500 rands. I have been contemplating changing medical aid for a long time they’ve finally given me a reason. After more than 10 years of being with them. Honestly discovery is the worst medical aid you can ever use/take . The worst .you are on your own. You’ll drown in debts. I regret. I should have taken medical aid that cares. That’s for people not money hungry medical aids . I am actively searching for a better medical aid that atleast covers 50-70% of birth. Yes I was prepared to pay the bill out of my pocket as I did expect them not to cover 100% but I was just shocked that I am expected to pay more than 80% of it. I don’t know how or where I’ll get the money to pay 15k, Honestly THIS IS THE WORST MEDICAL AID and when I called they just say we are sorry there is nothing we can do
