Discovery is the worst

I have contacted Discovery medical aid in excess of 20 times since 1 October 2023 via telephone and emails. Telling them that I have been paying 2 premiums per month since 1 March 2022 until today

Just a bit of background: I went on pension on 1 February 2022 and made arrangements with Discovery medical aid and Alexander Forbes that my premiums get paid directly from my living annuity which is administered by Alexander Forbes.

When I discovered that they were debiting my personal bank account at FNB, I contacted Discovery Medical aid and they confirmed that they were debiting my FNB account for my premiums. I explained to the agent that my premiums were paid directly from my living annuity through Alexander Forbes.

I contacted my financial advisor at Alexander Forbes,who confirmed that my premiums are paid directly from my living annuity. He recommended that I contact Discovery medical aid for a refund.

I have since started running into debt with my municipal accounts and home insurance as I've taken a drop in income since August 2023, while Discovery continues to debit my personal bank account.

Contacting Discovery is useless. Begging to have the matter escalated fell on deaf ears.

As a vulnerable pensioner (due to my health condition) the stress and anxiety doesn't serve me well at all.

All I want is my money back, but Discovery seems to be determined to hold onto MY MONEY at all costs & I'm the one suffering, which isn't fair...
