Discovery is state owned

Good day,

I was adivsed by a neurosurgoen on the 1st of Jul 2020 that I would require surgery on my spine on the 7th of th 7th 2020. Discovery preceeded to start the preauth process on the 02/07. Today, i have discovered no information from Discovery regarding covner from the procedre. I have spent over R200 on the fine with their ridiculous call centre trying to get clarity on the auth. I was advised that i need to contact the Gp's rooms (to which they senth the PMA forms, for a follow up ((not my job, but ok)). Days past. 07/07 long since passes and still no communication. My surgery rebooked to 14/07 as a resul;t of discoveries inability to follow up or notify clinets of updates RE claim requests. The last two days i have spent on the phone with them, being boucned around from my GP rooms to their centre trying to facilitate a process I should not have.

CurrentlyI am bedridden in immense pain but i find myself as a call cetre employee for discovery. There have been a few discovery consultants who have been exceptionally helpful (wade in particular) but again, no clairty. Instead, Im bounced around one emplyee to antoehr being told the same garbage in different ways.

As of writing this, the 10th of the 7th 20202. I still have no clarity as to where or not my authorization for me procedure (2 days ago, i might add) has been approved. I spoke with a line manager (tracy, i think) who said she would look into it and get back to me ASAP. (ASAP being monday the 13th of July, a day before the re-re-scheduled surgery), which is entirely useless as regulation digtates i require covid-19 testing 3 days in advanc ( being tomorrow). OF course, this wont happen as there is a 0.5% chance surgery will contine on tuesday.

I have been bed bound for the better part of two weeks, in writing agony, watching my disco debt order for 2.5k go off a month.

To date i have no clairty. Disco blames the doctors, doctors blame discovery, discovry then blames the surgeon.

What the hell am i meant to do. Im unable to use my right arm, work adequately but do anything apart from rot at home on a daily basis hoping and praying the staff at all these sites decide that maybe this poor boy needs surgery and perhaps we should phone and dedicate our resources into investigating thedelay, opposed to having a "valuable clinet" do the leg work on our behalf.

The service, client care, and just general concern from health care related fields at this point has been unutterably miserable and carefree. So long as my medical aid payment goes off, why could they give any more than the tiniest iota of a small ****.

BItterely disappointed in the way that this scenario has been handled.
