Discovery H.Short Paying Service Provider

<div>The CEO Discovery Health Med.Aid Scheme cc: The Prinicipal Officer Discovery Health Med.Aid Scheme Kindly take note That; I am declaring a dispute with Discovery Med.Aid Schemes on the following facts some of which occurred from 15th July 2020 to date. 1. I joined the scheme on April 1st 2020 -without any waiting period for Med.Care. I am 64 yrs ,have no pre- existing conditions,free from Diabetes and non-chronic. 2. At no time was it explained to me that there would be 3rd parties involved in determining visits/costs/benefits for Dental and Optometry Service Providers. 3. From the 15th July I have had short payments approx R250 to the Optometrists as well as short payment of R200 to the GP I visited.Both these service providers have been servicing Discovery Clients as per their own admission and I did not see any problem with their Services.I understand the Optometrist is not not part of ISO Leyso a 3rd Party Entity appointed by Discovery .Because of ISO LEYSO 20% was deducted from the Optometrist Bill of which I am told I will be liable for? 4. I beleive the Dentist I visited for ESSENTIAL dental care was paid his first invoice but the second invoice has been sent to another 3rd party called Dental Risk Centre also apoointed by by Discovery Health. 5.. To me these 3rd parties increase the cost of Med.Care besides having no ethics and employ time-delaying tactics expecially to Service Providers of Colour. 6. At all times since 15/7/2020 I have sent emails to Vanessa Smith an Executive assistant at Discovery,and spoken to various Call Centre agents (who admit they are powerless) but to date these issues have not been resolved. 7. I urgently need to see a Dentist nearer to my residence and was told that I cannot go to another Dentist besides re-visiting the first one I had gone to.?Should I have to get an extraction for an upper painful and sensitive molar tooth that I will have to pay R380 for the consult and Discovery will only pay R280 for the extraction. 8. These above amounts are small change compared to the premiums I am paying and to date from the Total a premiums paid approx .R9000 Discovery has paid out about R1800 -20% of premuims. 9. At various times I have requested the email of the CEO of Discovery I was told I could not obtain this info.This afternoon I requested the email again and am told by Vanessa Smith that Johnathan Broomberg is no longer the CEO and I will be given the other CEOs email before 5PM TODAY. It is aparent that the CEO of Discovery has no "Open Door Policy" and is not accessible to its Members. 10. Discovery to me have no Business Ethics and are downright arrogant especially to to the marginalised or underclass sections of the population.One has just to refer to the website Hellopeter to see proof of this. I await a response from Discovery Health.</div>
