Discovery Health's mental health care programmed helped me recover from depression

I will always be grateful to Discovery Health for its incredible Mental Health Care Programme. I was in a very difficult place after being dealt the double blow of losing a parent and dealing with postpartum depression. It got to the point where I had to be hospitalised. As a Discovery member, I was then covered for several days in a psychiatric facility which, far from being the scary institution many of us imagine, was a haven of support where I got the expert help I needed to recover from what was diagnosed as major clinical depression. There is no way I could have recovered without having access to this help. Afterward, I was able to return to my young child and be the mother she deserved. I will never forget coming back months later to collect some documents and realising how different I felt. Even the receptionist was smiling at me because she could see the difference. I felt lighter and more hopeful. It has been a continuous journey. Discovery also covered several post-recovery sessions with a psychiatrist and psychologist. I can honestly say that this benefit was lifesaving and I really wish more people knew about it. Thank you Discovery!
