Discovery Healthcare - Shocking Oncology cover service!!!!!!!!

In October 2021 I went to see a dermatologist for my annual check up. She found a ***** mole, did an excision and diagnosed a melanoma. She then referred me to a Plastic Surgeon to remove the melanoma. The surgeon's bill amounted to nearly R8000 and Discovery wont pay because it was removed by a Plastic Surgeon ( who I was referred to)! Even though cancer falls under the Prescribed Minimum Benefit umbrella, they wont reimburse me. I should have just let the cancer spread and cost them a fortune in Oncology fees rather than be proactive and prevent it from spreading. Despite paying them R1000's every month, they will find every excuse not to pay!!! Time to look for new healthcare!!!!!
