Discovery Health - why do you not honour your obligations to pay for chronic medication when members pay for that cover.

i have written to the desk at *** but has not even received any acknowledgement.

We have been with Discovery for over 30 years.

Due to a medical event that took place in September 2022, a cardiologist has prescribed chronic medication, the monthly expense is around R1200 p.m.

I know that I have a discovery chronic medication benefit.

The claim for the prescribed medication was submitted first by the cardiologist and then by the chemist, but immediately rejected by Discovery, and continued to be rejected monthly.

I must pay from either my savings account or own resource for medication discovery should be paying.

So my questions are to Discovery Health remain unanswered: 1. Why was it rejected as a cardiologist qualified in this specialist profession thought it good for me to be on this medication. 2. Who rejected the claim at discovery? 3. What is the qualification and experience of this individual specific in the field of cardiology who rejected the claim? 4. Why are these claims continued to be rejected when a specialist prescribes the medication to prolong life? 5. Was the claim rejected because of discovery business custom (I have previous experience with the discovery group where legitimate claims were rejected in insurance and investments) to ensure that the patient will fund the essential and required medication and discovery is not out of pocket and discovery remains in a position to pay executives insanely ludicrous performance bonusses annually? 6. Can I have access to the discovery information with regards to this claim process?

I recall that discovery was in the news not so long ago with the discovery claims processes under scrutiny.

I am also sure that I am not the only discovery member with this problem where discovery health abdicated the responsibility back to the members to have chronic medication paid for by the member instead of discovery.
