Discovery Health Vitality Benefits are non existent!!!!

I have been a client with Discovery Health since 2004. On Monday I decided to use one of the benefits that they offer on Vitality. I went to a store to purchase sneakers. Discovery Vitality gave me a voucher for 35 % discount. When I tried to use the voucher the store could not accept the wi code to activate the discount. We checked on the system and the shoes did have the vitality icon next to it but the code would still not go through. We called the customer services and after being on hold for 30 minutes, they finally tried to assist me. I gave the agent all the necessary details and she confirmed that I should get the discount but she was not sure why the code was not being accepted. She then told me she would log it with the IT department to try and resolve the issue, but here was my problem, I needed to purchase the shoes on that day as it was a present for my husbands birthday which was the next day. Now you may ask why I was leaving it for so late...the original store that I had been to the previous week did not have the correct size and the only available pair was at Festival Mall and I could only get there on there on Monday. She told me she was sorry and there was nothing she could do. This left a very bad taste in my mouth. How can Discovery Vitality offer these benefits and when you want to redeem them, you cant??? If I had been able to use the voucher, I would have saved R700. Having to now pay full price heavily affected my budget. This is unnacceptable as I pay a fortune to Discovery each and every month and now when it is time to use one of their "benefits" it does not work.
