Discovery Health trying to profit of vivid-19

Day 1 of lockdown and I get a call from discovery that because of covid-19 they are cutting their rates.... hold the phone! Are you telling me that your company has instructed you to cold call call people in an attempt to undercut your competitors to increase your market share during the covid-19 pandemic? As an essential service your staff are risking their health and the health of others to increase your market share? While I completely understand an economic need to keep a business from going under this is not that situation. Didn’t our president say those try to profit of covid-19 will be prosecuted. I do think that it is probably a good idea to get more people who are not covered by medical aid covered for their benefit but does anyone else think it is disgusting to pray on people fears for profit at this time? If you are not on medical aid and decide to get some at this time please read the fine print, in economic there is no such thing as a free lunch. There are also many medical aid companies out there that are ethically using all their resources including the people that could contract the virus trying to assist you and the country during the lockdown. Wouldn’t you rather be insured by people who actually care not hunting for market share and profits right now?
