Discovery Health -Total Disappointment

My daughter Devina Haripersad is a member of Discovery Key Care which only allows her to use Life Hospital in the Key Care Network. She is eight month pregnant and her Gynaecologist Dr Vikesh Nandlal detected some abnormalities with her pregnancy and he referred her to Dr. I.E. Bhorat who is a FETAL -MATERNAL SPECIALIST who subsequently conducted an ultra -sound .The result of the Ultra Sound was the detection of Recto Anal Malformation (which is very rare)which can only be treated at Parklands Hospital which has a specialised unit with Specialised Paediatrician Surgeon .Dr Bhorat has discussed the case with DR Samad Shaik the Paediatric Surgeon at Parklands Hospital and he is willing to manage the infant postnatally .She needs to have the baby delivered at Parklands Hospital as no other LIFE Hospital has this facility. All the doctors mentioned above have written to Discovery Health motivating for the delivery of the infant at Parklands Hospital and Discovery Health is still rejecting this because it falls out of Key Care Network of Hospital. The well being of the unborn infant is at stake and Discovery Health is dragging it's feet in giving authorisation ,it seems as though they are only interested in the profit motive which is morally repugnant. The question to be asked ,is the panel that is reviewing the motivation from our Specialist are professional who are qualified to take such decisions because this is a rare case ,if they are not they should seek advice from other professionals in this field instead of just rejecting it out of hand.
