Discovery Health Sucks!

I cannot believe how ***** this medical aid is. Im so furious and at the same time extremely disappointed with DH.

On my plan Smart Classic it SHOWS benefits available for me to use. The consultant couldnt see it and asked me to email them screenshots of my benefits on my log in! Imagine that...DH should have had all this info at their fingertips! Anyways...i used a mammogram benefit this week..They dound a huge birad 4 lump. The Radiology depr now need to biopsy the lump. I see ON MY BENEFITS avaialbel to me i have 2 x VABBs available.

When i phoned for authorization i was told its "subject to approval" - the doctor phoned yesterday (spoke to the team leader who said its fine, he can see its on my benefit) when i got to the radiology dept this morning i had to wait 3 hours. And told to rather go home coz DH doesnt want to authorise. No reason given! Yet its benefits available to me as reflecting on my health plan!!!!! Same as the mammogram..all part ofnwhat i can use over this year.. Not one consideration for a patient's mental well being when struck with something so delicate. A medical aid denying one to find out if its cancerous or not?! One of your consultants called yesterday to say..."if its cancer we will cover you" ! Really!!! How would i KNOW its cancerous if you're denying me what IS AVAILABLE on my benefits??. So i can see if it is or NOT!!!

Really sickening to know a company is just after your monthly contributions and not a care for your well being!
