Discovery Health Sucks
On the 27 December 2014 my daughter went for a procedure at the hospital. Prior to the procedure I called Discovery Health to find out if the procedure will be 100% covered and the answer that I got is YES. Today I am sitting with two bills, one of R4287,70 from the Gynea and R2695,98 from the Anaesthetist. App**** for PMB which was declined by Discovery Health for a reason that I don't understand. Discovery Health is a *******. Most people that on this medical aid are not happy. One pays so much every month and still sit with doctors bills that one has to pay off, yet we pay so much every month. Your call centre agent give false information. If they had revealed the TRUTH upfront I would have not taken my daughter for the procedure. They are a nightmare and have I am NOT happy at all with them. Unfortunately my company only deals with Discovery so we are forced to be with them. Would change them within a flash on an eye if I could. DISCOVERY SUCKS AND HATE THEM TO BITS...WOULD NEVER IN A TRILLION YEARS RECOMEND THEM TO ANY BODY.

As discussed the provider called us on 22/12/2014 to request a hospital admission for your daughter on 27/12/2014. We confirmed how we will fund for the procedure to the provider on that call. You contacted us later that day and I confirmed the details of the call to you. We did not confirm any funding for the procedure on the call you made to us. You requested that the authorisation be retracted as the facility was not part of your chosen plans hospital network. The provider contacted us the next day and changed the facility and again we confirmed how we will fund for the procedure.
I do understand that you are not happy with the outcome of your query however it is in line with the Scheme rules.
