Discovery Health ****med me

I had a membership with Discovery Health, my son got sick and I called Discovery Health to find out which hospital to take him to, they told me to go to Life Robinson Hospital and when I got there, I signed all relevant forms at the hospital and followed up with Discovery on everything that I had to confirm with them, including all procedures that my son went through, I personally called Discovery to make sure that those procedures will be paid for by the insurance. Discover never paid a single cent, not even for the hospital bed, even though they told me I could take my son there. I tried to get help and was often told someone will get back to me but no one ever really looked into the matter. The sad thing is they even cleaned out the Savings I received under my cover to pay for the hospital, which is funny because that amount wasn't even 5% of what is owed to the hospital, to this day. What makes it more sad is that they asked me for a cancellation fee of the cover I had with them and I made it clear that I can't pay that fee until someone sorts out the mess. I'm still followed by debt collectors asking for a cancellation fee whereas I can't get anyone from Discovery to get me out of the debt they put me in. What saddens me most is that my cover with Discovery was 35% of my salary at the time, the total monthly payments I made to this company is more than what the Hospital asked for. So what kind of insurance is this? To this day I'm still getting calls about owing Discovery but not getting anything in return about my case. What was I really insuring with over 35% of my salary thinking that's the best thing I could do for my family? I paid much more than what the hospital asked for, where is the rest of my money?
