Discovery Health refusing treatment of 2 year old

My daughter has been to the doctor for tonsilitis 3 times since the beginning of January. Our GP, who has seen my daughter every time, made a recommendation for us to take her to the ENT. After writing the referral and requesting authorization on behalf of me, I received a letter from Discovery Health declining my daughter's ENT consultation because tonsilitis is a plan exclusion. So you Discovery Health is refusing to pay for my sick 2 and a half year old daughter to just see an ENT!!! Why Discovery, what are we paying our monthly premiums for? After a qualified doctor made the recommendation. I have not used my specialist benefit, but they are not even willing to let me pay out of that benefit. So tell me, if this is a PMB, will I also be required to pay out of pocket? I am sitting with an ill child who refuses to eat because her tonsils are chronically enlarged. Discovery Health - I expect an answer on why you would refuse treatment on a sick child. Probably because you want us to go on a higher plan and pay even more than we do now, just so my child can have proper care!!! Deeply and utterly disappointed in the service of Discovery and shocked at how they treat their clients. My child has the right to be healthy and Discovery is robbing her of that.
