Discovery Health refusing to pay claim

My mum is a 77 year old pensioner who is a member of Discovery Health. On 15 December 2023, I took her to hospital due to extreme abdominal pain and pain in her legs.

The doctor on duty ran blood tests but later sent us home with a prescription. The medical aid rejected the pathology claim stating that it was for pre-existing conditions. I called Discovery Health on two occasions and queried. I was told on both occasions that the reason for rejection was not valid, but someone will call me to discuss further.

To date, no call was received from Discovery Health. My mum is now being held liable for an amount of R1881.70 as Discovery refuses to pay this amount.
