Discovery Health overcharging and slow to rectify
On 03 January, Discovery Health deducted R2801 from my bank account instead of R1380 for my daughter's medical aid. My daughter, (membership number 734 714 760) is earning less than R8950. When this was queried, Discovery Health said that through an analysis they confirmed that her income is higher than R14400. Discovery Health did not provide any detail on how they conducted their analysis to confirm my daughter's income to be higher than R14400. When this was queried, Discovery Health said that If the required documents are not received timeously, the premium is defaulted to the highest income band.
In order to place the member on the correct income band, they require a commissioned letter or an affidavit detailing her monthly income and then Discovery Health will provide feedback in 2 to 3 business days.
We submitted the commissioned letter over three days ago. together with the last 12 months bank statements to show earnings. No response has been received from Discovery Health as yet.
I am a pensioner and request Discovery Health to please refund the over-deduction of 03 January and rectify the correct deduction before February premium is deducted.
