Discovery Health / Medical Cover is a ****

I signed up for Discovery Fexicare medical cover in 2023, since I signed up I have used it once for a GP consultation in last year, the consultation cost about R570. And I used it once at the pharmacy of which I could only get the cheapest antibiotics (not even the ones the GP prescribed), in total I have used about R700 thus far, since 2023 till now, Jan 2025 I have been paying almost R500 every single month for the medical aid. Last week I went to the Dentist and got an x-ray done, the dentist consultation fee was the same as the first GP visits fee last year, as the dentist and GP is in the same practice, thats why I went to that dentist because I know that Dr Peers practice takes my medical aid, this medical aid was very important to me because I got diagnosed with cancer in May 2024, and my cancer treatment is pricey, so I thought instead of canceling the medical aid to make ends meet, I would rather sacrifice the R500 over my cancer meds, so if I have any flu or dental issues I wouldn't have to stress about paying for a GP. Now like I said I went for a dental X-ray last week, and today I get a invoice from the Dr saying I need to make payment because the medical aid has declined my claim. My medical aid is supposed to cover dental x-ray, because that is part of my cover, that is why I went in the first place. If it wasn't the case I would have gone to a clinic for a referral to a hospital dentist instead. Long story short. I have seen enough videos on social media bashing Discovery and here I am today. After paying them thousands and claiming for less than a thousand rand one time, and then all of a sudden being declined a claim less than R600. And guess what? I won't even get back all the money I have paid them. I'm canceling my policy as soon as they open tomorrow! Please do yourself a favor and do not use Discovery. If this testimony isn't enough, please research them on social media before making use of their services, I will be taking this to social media as well, thankfully I have social media experience, so i plan on making my story go big, hec im even comsidering taking it to N.A.B newspaper and getting it into every single local paper. South Africa is in a mess as it is, Discovery is just another ***** contributing to people being ****med out their hard earned money. As a struggling cancer patient, my heart feels extremely sad over this whole situation, the saddest part of all is I'm not the only one suffering and being ****med by them. And to make it worse, I'm fighting my cancer the natural way with no Dr's assistance, and the amount of horror stories I have heard about cancer patients with full medical aid and hospital plan covers, using the medical route for their cancer and getting declined after paying Discovery hundreds of thousands! To be ****** by such a big organization is pathetic to say the least.
