Very Disappointed with Discovery Health.

My son was rushed to the ER after sustaining a facial injury. I took him to the ER room of the required hospital as stipulated by the policy. As part of the ER procedures, X-Rays were ordered. This came to amount in excess of R600. Discovery has refused to pay for these procedures. We have been given the run around by several different consultants. This has been ongoing for almost two months. First we were told that the authorization number weren't specified, then we were told the the incorrect ICD codes were used. Finally we were informed that they weren't going to pay, as X-Rays weren't covered for out-patients. So in an emergency - they won't pay for X-Rays. How convenient.

This is the second occasion this has happened, as my minor son was involved in a MVA the previous year, and again they refused to pay for the X-Rays (at that stage they still payed a small fraction of the costs)

Secondly, this is a discriminatory medical scheme, as you get charged more, depending on what you earn, yet it seems everyone still gets equal *** service.
