Discovery Health is the biggest ******* in the world

<p>I am a smoker who is now in the process of stopping and i am now using nicorette in order to stop.</p> <p>One would think that i would have the full support of my medical aid as it is healthier for me and discovery would also benefit as it reduces the possiblitly of me claiming for smoke related illnesses in the future.</p> <p>I tried to get some nicorette from various pharmacies and i am being told that i have reached my script limit. Keep in mind that this is over the counter medictation that does not require a prescpription.</p> <p>I called discovery about this, today being the third call.</p> <p>The previous two calls to discovery, the consultants advised me that it was wrong as i have more than adequae funds in my MSA and the medication should be covered. I was advised that discovery had internally classified nicorette as chronic medication. I then went back to pharmacies and was still notified that i had exceeded my quota. I then purchased the nicorette for cash.</p> <p>Today i called discovery again and spoke to another consluatnt and explained the process from scratch. Now i am bieng told that i have exceeded the number of times i can buy nicorette gum (2mg) with my medical aid despite the fact that adequate funds in my MSA. To top it off, i can't claim for the purchase previouly made with cash and not able to claim for any cash purchases.</p> <p>Begs the question of why have medical aid? Seems to me Discovery wants me to keep smoking as i am not receiving the support that i need and want to be able to quit smoking.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have two brothers who are both medical doctors, they have informed that discovery is one of the worst medical aid service providers to have and have encouraged me to change. </p> <p> </p>
