Discovery health is a money making ****

Last week I phoned discovery health to complaint about medical aid increase. Discovery health has increased my mother's medical aid risk premium with 45%. My mother never suffered any serious condition or illness since 2013 when we join discovery. She has suffered from flu and she's taking her hypertension medication religiously . I tried to negotiate the increase because it's unfair and unjustifiable. Considering that discovery increase was 9.4 as reported. Their consultant try to sound smart dismissing the issue of inflation and raising the issue of how scheme has paid claims during the period and decision to deal away with entry level key care. I took key care for my mother because I can't afford other plans. Health should not be a privilege but a birth right. In my life I have never received 45% salary increase . The government must look at this issue of medical aid who abuse their powers. To make matters worse discovery consultant hang up on me because they can't answer my questions. I think I am left with no choice but to escalate our matter to the medical aid regulator should discovery fail.
