I have a hospital plan with Discovery Health. It is said it will allow me into any Private hospital of my choosing. I got admitted into hospital. They paid for all the specialists fees. But did not pay for the actual ward stay, "the bed". Reason being, I don't have MSA savings. But of course I don't, its a HOSPITAL PLAN!. So basically Discovery Health sells you a HOSPITAL PLAN, but just know you will have to pay for the "bed" part of your stay.
