Discovery health hospital claim

I am forced to write this review as I want people to be aware that even though you are paying amount of insurance premium monthly for your family when you are hospitalised please have at least a good amount in hand and don't expect health insurance to cover all that. Coming to my experience my wife gave birth in Nov 2017 and was hospitalised only for 2 days. Her doctor was Franelise Hofmeyr and they were the one available at that when we wanted some consultation in Christian bernard. So in short I am in coastal saver and the doctor asked for a co-payment of R6500 which I paid upfront( this is fine) .But after the c-section they gave a bill of 14500 and discovery gave only 4000( which is even lesser than my one month premium) and asked me to pay the remaining. Which I had to 10500 R from my pocket for a hospital expense . If I didn't have any thing in my MSA this would have been a big burden for me. So please be aware of this if you are in coastal saver and going for any hospitalisation or maternity.
