Discovery Health has refused authorization for a R30K procedure although we have been paying close to R70K in total monthly contributions with no other claims - they handed us off to a forensic (crime?!) department, scrutinizing me during a final pre-stage of cancer diagnosis, breaching the POPI act, their brokers are acting absolutely inhumane (“once it’s cancer you can claim oncology benefits”), have shown nothing but incapability throughout all departments, and have caused insane, unnecessary mental and emotional distress. To date they refuse to inves to gate this matter properly by sending faulty and incorrect communications, not providing legitimate contact details, and overall neglect of their contractual as well as moral and ethical obligations toward their clients. Stay away from this insurance company, there is a reason why they only have a 1.5* rating. Absolutely disgusting corporation that’s money hungry and won’t shy away from malpractices and mistreatment of their clients.
