Discovery Health - Happy to take but every reason not to pay

Less than 1 Star - Discovery *****s your Money in a time when people are suffering enough!!!!!!

Discovery has had unlimited GP visits even when savings are depleted for several years. All of a sudden you have to see a nurse before you see a Dr in order to have it covered? They don't cover emergency room visits but you are not allowed as a capable adult to know if you need to see a Dr or not!!!!

Nurses cannot provide medical prescriptions, why would I go to a nurse when I know I am sick and need Medicine??????? Both my husband and I have had injuries unrelated in the past 2 weeks, one suspected blood clot with loss of feeling and coloration in the finger - I had better go and find a discovery nurse on a Sunday morning so she can tell me I need a doctor in the meanwhile I have lost my appendage??? I don't need a nurse I need a DOCTOR!!! Guess what they didn't pay for this!!!!

Again injury wrist either ligament, nerve or bone, I don't need a nurse I need a DOCTOR did they pay for it???? NO - response why didn't you go to the Hospital??? *** you don't pay for Hospital visits and my Doctor knows me a hell of a lot better than an emergency room - Who wants to go to a Hospital with COVID around???? NOT ME!!!

I am appalled at the way Discovery takes your money - which is an absolute fortune and yet will find any and every way not to pay for medical assistance when needed. In a time when people are struggling to survive but keep paying for medical aid at Full Rates so that they are protected, only to find out that you are not??!!!

Discovery has made absolutely no effort what so ever to assist its members during this pandemic and couldn't be bothered to assist its loyal hardworking members by paying for simple medical requirements.

Beyond disappointed and angry. Why should I stay with a Medical Aid who don't care about covering their Members medical needs????
