DISCOVERY HEALTH DON'T CARE ABOUT THE WELL-BEING OF THEIR CLIENTS
My wife had an operation on 1st July 2021. Due to her medical condition after several major operations, she is still on oxygen and too weak to be released after being in hospital for 7 days. The Physician wrote letters explaining her condition and that he can only release her from hospital if she is transferred to a Step-down Clinic where she will be looked after but, they were rejected by Discovery Health without any explanation or reason. After the two previous operations Discovery Health had no problem with this arrangement. Is spite of the fact that she is much weaker after this operation, DISCOVERY HEALTH refused bluntly to allow her to go to a Step-down Clinic without any explanation around their decision. Clients need to speak to an individual at a Call Centre who don't have answers putting the blame on a Case Manager. Obviously the Case Manager did not do his/her homework but, they are not available and untouchable. After trying to find answers from a non-informed person at a Call Center holding on for 35 minutes to try and find answers, your are just cut off and, obviously nobody will return your call. Currently, my wife will remain in hospital which is more expensive than a Step-down Clinic until she is strong enough to be released to go home.
