Discovery Health deny medical claim

I was at my GP - Dokter with a lot of pain and he arrange that i go to hospital. I was admitted to Groenkloof hospitaal and was their for 2 days When i was admitted to hospital the people at the hospital did not inform me about a co - payment. I received autherasation from Discovery and was admitted.

I received treatment and gone for a couple of test. Please note i was in hopital and was not aware of what all the test and procudures i have to go throug at that time. I only try to recover from the pain.

I received a phone call from discovery that everything will be covered the next day while i was still in hospital. I have records of the time etc. Apperantly Discovery can supply me with the voice recording. Also there was no discussion about a co payment in this phone call.

Nothing was said about a co -payment.

I was released from hospital - and then 2 later gaet and e-mail from discovery that i have to **** a cop payment - about R5000

This is now about 3 weeks that i deal with e-mails and phone calls with Discovery and they refuse to pay the hospital bills.

Keep in mind i was 2 days in hospital.

I even got a full report from the doctors to state may case and Discovery still refuse to pay the hospital - co payment.

So i followed procudure and visit my GP first and was in a lot of pain and this is how Discovery treats their customers after almost 10 years

Discovery please respond to you emails and give feedback.

Please escalate this to management level and not a call centre agent.
