Discovery Health
So dissapointed at Discovery Health (Mmed option).
I pay close to 6K a month, only for them to want me to pay for my own NT Scan (pregnancy). The practitioner assures me they (Discovery) should cover. But here I am, wasting more of my time, money and data.
I log a claim. And no-one responds about the status of the claim. I follow up with an email asking about the status, and still no response. So, 8 days after initially logging the claim, does the consultant inform us that the claim is rejected, and then only do I receive an email about the claim rejection. (Why is there even an automated response that says 2-3 working days response time?).
We call the practitioner who performed the scan, and still, they firmly assure us that it should be covered by Discovery. They also stipulate that Discovery can fix it on their end.
I have followed up with a complaint on the Discovery site, and will wait the 24hours they claim to respond to complaints.
Discovery says the practitioner is using incorrect code, practitioner telling us that they can't change their invoicing code because of ABC (jargon I wouldn't understand). Even after they (Discovery & practitioner) communicated with each other, I still won't be reimbursed because of this "code".
If it was my mistake, and I failed to ask before going to the doctor or the referred practitioner, I would've gladly admitted and acknowledged my mistake. But having asked the doctor and practitioner about medical aid paying, and now having to deal with not being reimbursed is absurd to put it politely.
Highly dissapointed at the outcome of this case.
