Discovery health blacklisting clients unfairly

Hi

It is so surprising that a financial institution will blacklist someone without notifying them. Upon trying to secure an asset loan with a bank I was told that I am a blacklisted person. On pressing for further information I was told it is discovery that blacklisted me. It is so surprising because no one bothered to alert me. I have a feeling because they are a big financial institution they are bullying us client. They want to bully former clients into joining them again to be removed from the list.

I am not even aware how much I owe them if I do. On leaving the medical aid. I received an email that said some funds were deposited into my account as they were left over funds from my savings or what ever terminology they used.

I wish they had communicated with me and as I speak I do not know for how long I will remain on that list and whether it is possible for me to be removed if I pay their owings, that is if I owe them anything at all.

Above all they manage a portion of my pension from a company I once worked for. So how on earth do you blacklist someone you owe, because in essence they owe me not the other way round.

hoping to here from them soon, if ever they care!!
Hello thokozanimhlanga,

Thank you for your comment.

The Medical Savings Account (MSA) is a fixed amount that Discovery Health gives you at the beginning of the year for day-to-day medical expenses. You pay this amount back to us in 12 equal monthly instalments but, if necessary, you are free to use the whole amount at the beginning of the year to pay for valid medical expenses. The 12 instalments form part of your monthly contribution.

If you leave the Discovery Health Medical Scheme part-way through the year, we calculate how much of the MSA you have used and how much you have contributed to it. If you have used more from the account than what you have paid into the account, then you will need to pay the difference to us.

I have investigated your query and confirmed via email that we did try to contact you however as we receieved no communication from you, we requested a listing be put in place. I have confirmed that the listing will be removed upon payment of the amount owing to the Scheme being settled.

Thank you for allowing us to assist with your query.

Regards
Jashvir
