My son was admitted in a clinic that is within the prescribed pool of clinics by Discovery. He was discharged two days later and the clinic processed a claim through my medical aid. Only to have Discovery tell me that they will only pay 70% of my claim. They say I should have requested authorisation for the admission before it happened. This incident happened at 04:00AM. I don't think I should be paying for medical aid and have to stress about authorisation in an emergency. My contributions to medical aid were already about twice the value of the claim at that time.<br> I continued with my medical aid with discovery until I had to cancel due to change of employment (05.2015). At this point my contributions were up to 6 times the claim they partially denied me two years prior. I requested a payback for my contribution when I cancelled the cover and I was told there is no such for the plan I was on and for cancelling my medical aid with them I forfeit my contributions. I was then told that its too bad that I did not use my medical aid. And these are the same people who partially denied my claim and had me in debt for the rest. These people sell LIES to their customers.<br>
