Discovery Health - Any excuse not to pay.

On the 10th of April while surfing I dislocated my patella. I was helped out of the water and an ambulance was called.<br> When they arrived they carried me off the beach and put me in the ambulance. They put up a drip with morphine and some other stuff as well. That is all I remember. I woke up in the hospital. I was on my stomach and couldn't move so I can only assume that they had to sedate me to turn me onto my back.<br> <br> I have been going back and forth with the medical aid ever since. When I got the first notification that they not going to pay I called them. They said that it wasn't an emergency and the doctor didn't use emergency ICD10 codes. They then contacted the doctor and he wrote a letter explaining what happened. They then rejected that as well but the most frustrating part is that I was not informed at all. <br> <br> Now here is the kicker. On the 31/01/2013 I went to the same ER because I had an abscess that was very painful. Fully conscious and on my own this time. Once again they treated me for the pain and the account was sent to the medical aid. Guess what, they paid it. So now please explain to me why they would pay for pain treatment and not for a dislocated patella? Explain
