Discovery Health absolutely useless as always!!!

A one star rating is way too high for your poor or rather non existing service!! Discovery medical aid is the absolute worst medical aid ever!! So our 13 month old baby had a fever that I couldn't bring down with medicine. She started vomiting and had diarrhea. Which can cause dehydration in no time in such a small child. She was short of breath. It was Sunday 03:30 in the early morning hours, no doctors open that time of the morning. So we took her to the emergency room. Her fever was 39.7. Firstly Discovery claims to pay for Medical Emergencies (which in this case was an emergency) Secondly the hospital that we went to is in our network. She was put on a drip at the emergency room. As soon as the drip came off the fever started again. We struggled to bring down her fever again. Discovery refuse to pay and tell us it wasn't an emergency?! Where in the world can you tell someone that haven't seen our baby and how sick she were that it wasn't an emergency. She tested positive for covid and were very sick. We asked Discovery why are they only paying for her covid test and not the rest of the R5000? They simply told us that it wasn't an emergency and we can send in her positive covid results and maybe they will pay more. We send in the positive results waited a few days and still nothing. They said they are not gonna pay. Discovery Health you are absolutely useless!! I'm so glad we decided to terminate our medical aid with you and it's ending end of February 2022. The best decision ever!! You only want our money and we get nothing in return. Absolutely poor service from Discovery as always!!
