Discovery Health - A Shame and *********!

<p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Discovery Health Medical Scheme has point blank refused to approve a schedule IV medication that I urgently require and have been roundly ignoring me!</p> <p>I am on the Discovery Smart Plan and visited a doctor from the smart network on Friday the 24/02/2017.</p> <p>The prescribed medication is Kantrexil.</p> <p>Kantrexil is a schedule 4 - antibiotic, adsorbent</p> <p>According to the smart plan rules Discovery should approve payment of this medication at my preferred pharmacy network Dis-Chem, as I have used a network provider GP and the medication is above schedule 3.</p> <p>The emergency medication still hasn't been approved, I have contacted/complained 3 times since Friday and was refused once again without a valid reason.</p> <p>My condition has deteriorated since and the schedule IV medication costs R500, my monthly medical contribution is around R1600. </p> <p>The Dis-Chem pharmacists who tried assisting are terribly astonished at this outcome.</p> <p>Shame on Discovery!!!</p> <p>Beware of their false values </p>
