No help from Discovery Health, Discovery Life and Ex Gratia Facility for needed treatment.

All feedback advised that the condition (Psoriatic Arthritis) is not listed hence no assistance can be provided. This was post calling Discovery and being asked to submit documents / claims for assistance with the needed treatment. I asked the question as why even ask me to complete the docs and send through. It was even mentioned that the condition is not impacting on all the areas within a questionnaire i was asked to complete. The fact of the matter is that the areas or factors impaired by the psoriatic arthritis severely impacts my daily life. It is all well and good to state that there is a treatment plan still available as per the doctor but the other really interesting fact like your response to this claim is that Discovery Health does not want to cover that treatment / medication so guess what, it then eliminates your response to my claim as I am unable to get treated based on affordability.

Based on Discovery not covering that treatment, I would need to pay cash for the treatment which I can't afford or I was advised that I need to upgrade to a comprehensive plan which I as well can't afford.

I submitted this claim thinking that since I was refused help by Discovery Health, a claim via Discovery Life could assist with funding the treatment for what I believe to be valid and that this condition is impacting my daily life and since it is a variant of Arthritis, should be covered however after jumping through all the hoops, filling out documents, paying for transport and consultation with specialist to complete the documentation, i did have a little hope but the expected negative result was received which attributes to one not feeling like a client but more of just an entity to an organization that has no empathy to an individuals cause or needs and just wants to find loop holes to not assist people who need medical help.

Well done to you who supposed to be aiding people wo need medical help and thanks for nothing Discovery.

have sent emails to *** but haven’t received any acknowledgement of my queries and assistance hence this escalation.

I even submitted an exgratia application based on affordability for the treatment and again which was rejected.

All in all I can’t state that I am a very disappointed / dissatisfied client of Discovery and post this plea for help.

I await your feedback in this regard.
