Discovery handing me over
I started with Discover Health in 2012 and it covered me , my son and my dad and i ended the medical aid in March 2015.. In 2013 July my dad was admitted in hospital and discovery refused to pay a bill for R136346.24 which we are currently indebted too and paying off.. On the 24 Aug 2015 i received an email from SSDA their collecting firm to say i owe the R1 997,88 (which has probably gone up by now because there's lawyers' fees).. Discovery is in no position to be dragging my name through debtors offices for money i know nothing about when they failed to pay my deceased father's bill at the Pretoria Heart Hospital.. I would like my name to be cleared from any lawyers as i stand by the fact that i do not owe Discovery and they busy making it hard for me to clear my name.. The minute they pay us what is liable to us or the hospital for that matter i don't see them having any right to take me to lawyers for money i do not owe them.. All i want is for this to be cleared I'm tired of calling them and trying to solve things with people who know nothing and finishing my airtime

When a member joins the scheme and they suffer from a particular illness or condition before their membership with Discovery Health commences, it is called a pre-existing condition. Based on the information on the application, when a pre-existing condition is disclosed, the Scheme can apply a 12-month waiting period on the pre-existing condition. Due to the waiting period app**** on your dependent when they joined the scheme, we were unable to fund for his hospital stay as his condition was related to the waiting period.
Kindly note that the amount owing to Discovery is due to over-expenditure of Medical Savings when membership was withdrawn. As discussed, there was correspondence posted to you regarding the matter, and due to no contact made with us, we handed the matter to an external collection agency for collection.
