Discovery get your act together

My husband is on chronic meds for well over a year. Every month when I place the order there is a co-payment which I pay every month. My banking details are given and usually the amount is taken off my account within 24/48 hours. To my surprise on Monday 14 September 2015, I placed the order but was told that I have two outstanding co-payment amounts from February 2015 and June 2015. When I asked why was I not notified earlier, why wait 7 months to inform me, a gentleman from the finance dept told me that something went wrong with their debit order runs for those two months. I asked when it was discovered - he answered in June 2015. Again I asked why was I not notified sooner and he could not sooner. Kept telling me If I had gone to a pharmacy for the meds I would have to pay for the medication before I walked out of the shop.
I mentioned that we are both pensioners and do not have 3 months co-payment charges to be deducted off my bank account in one go.
His attitude was Madam you have used the medication already so you must pay. To-date I have not heard from Discovery and my husband needs his medication. What do I do.
BAD BAD BAD attitude Discovery.
