Discovery Gap Cover

I had good experiences with Discovery until I had a pre-admission hospital surgery done. Although 80% of the medical was covered. The moment I got in touch with my Discovery Comprehensive Gap Cover all sort of excuses came. When I took out out the Gap Cover I was told there will be a 3 month waiting period. Which I totally understand. It's been 8 months since then , now I'm told there is a 12 month waiting period. How can people like this be trusted ? I cancelled my gap cover and definitely finding a better company. Will leave the medical too as soon as the opportunity comes along.
