Discovery fail to compensate positive covid claim
I tested positive for COVID-19 on 18 December 2021, and was informed that I would be compensated for the PCR test expense. My Discovery Financial Advisor submitted the claim on my behalf on 20 December 2021 (reference number ***), attaching the receipt and positive covid test results.
I received no communication on the matter for a while and made follow up calls, by which consultants told me the claim would be processed, verified my banking details, etc.
I sent further follow up emails and after further calls, was then told that the invoice was outstanding and this is why the claim was not processed. Bear in mind that I was never told this for a few months after the initial claim was submitted, and during the many back-and-forth calls that were made.
I eventually received the invoice and submitted it, and received no feedback for a few weeks to a month. I then made a follow up call again and was told that it was not processed because the referring doctors practise number was missing. This was submitted and again, to no avail, I had to make further follow up calls and send emails to other email addresses to find out that it is now not submitted in time.
I was never informed of needing an invoice until three months after the initial claim was submitted, which I found out by constantly following up on the claim myself. Discovery just does not want to assist people with claims that are valid They prolong claims and then tell clients that it has not been submitted on time.
I'm tired of talking to consultants who falsely promise that claims will be processed, only to wait in vain. I have had numerous Discovery products and have started cancelling them because of the poor service that is always received. Not only from discovery health, but other faculties as well.
Reference numbers: - *** - *** - *** - * There are more but I am too exhausted to find them all now. There are also countless call recordings that you will find on my profile all discussed during the first half of this year.
