Discovery Extender benefit ( Medical Aid funds depleted ) means nothing and we are unable to make use of the service

Discovery Extender Benefit when funds in your savings account are depleted is impossible to use your free visits. The process is as follows; - You either schedule an online visit with your doctor (What if your doctor doesn't provide the online service ? I'm not changing doctors) - Or you have to go to a network clinic , Dischem or Clinics and have a screening done and they will refer you to the doctor, where you will then be able to use your allocation of free visits.

The above sounds wonderful and amazing , but the problem is that if you have covid like symptoms then you have to go for a covid test. Which the network clinics , Dischem and Clicks don't do anymore and these covid tests are only covered by the medical aid ( two tests per year per member ) if reffered by a doctor or done in one of the network clinics.

So now I ask ..... Whats the point of then going and paying to have a covid test ( because that is what the clinic sisters are requesting that we do before they will screen you and refer you to a doctor ) to get a free doctors visit...... You are still paying money , where the extender benefit is meant to provide you with a free doctors visit because your funds are exhausted.

It makes utterly and entirely no sense. Discovery you are no longer offering a Extender benefit service in my mind. Maybe I should change medical aids and hope for a better service somewhere else.
