Discovery empty promises and false advertising on R1000 advance for personal health fund.
Unfortunately, due to no success with contacting 2 Discovery agents, as well as an escalated complaint, I am forced to use Hello Peter.
Last year, Discovery promised in writing that they would allocate a R1000 advance under the Personal Health Fund for a completed wellness check and a fitness device being linked. I completed all the necessary actions and received, in writing a message from Discovery on 11 December 2025 that I have unlocked my R1000 advance after completing my health check and connecting my device.
Today it is 17 February, and this advance is nowhere to be found. In fact, on your Discovery app it says my Personal Health Fund was last updated on 22 January, and the amount still reflects a R0.00. Despite logging in about 50 times over the last month, including reinstalling the app, nothing has changed.
Two consultants made various promises to me, including that I need to just wait a week and that Discovery is having difficulties allocating the advance. This was from consultant Andiswa. Last Monday, I heard another story from another consultant, called Ntombovuyo, that they never correctly allocated the advance to me personally and that it will be processed in 3-5 working days.
It has been over a week, and still waiting and still says ZERO in my personal health fund. No sign of this promised R1000 advance.
This is extremely disappointing and false advertising.
I urgently request feedback on why Discovery has not loaded my advance and why it is not reflecting. Discovery promises this advance to members in various brochures and confirmed to me that I have qualified for the advance in December 2025 so I want to know what the actual hold up is and when this will be rectified.
Thank you
