Discovery don't encourage early detection - they will only pay once you have cancer

Discovery will not pay for cancer related specialist consultation unless you actually have cancer. I had a lump which my GP requested an ultrasound for, Discovery paid for this. But when the ultrasound returned abnormalities, Discovery informed me that they would not pay for further consultation unless it turned out to be cancer. I then mailed them on various occasions trying to find out why they won't pay. They have just ignored these mails. I would like an explanation because I feel these consultations are important for early detection and surely that is something Discovery should encourage. People will put off expensive specialist consultations if Discovery don't pay, leading to later detection and material implications for the patient as well as for Discovery. Doesn't make sense to me. Also don't appreciate being ignored. (Mail refs - ***, ***, ***)
