Discovery doesn't care about their customers.

I recently joined Discovery Vitality in order to activate the Gym-Booster benefit, as I am currently a member of Virgin Active. I joined in December 2019, and as of January 2020, Vitality will only pay you back 75% of your gym fees (as opposed to the previous 100%) if you meet your exercise goals. To attain the other 25% you have to be a part of Discovery Bank, using a certain banking plan. I only joined Vitality to pay less at the gym, and now to pay both R225 and the Vitality fees, I am paying more than I was before! These changes were poorly communicated, and this information was only found AT THE BOTTOM OF ONE OF THEIR EMAILS ON A TINY LINK to their website. This is not a clear and fair communication. This shows how Discovery is trying to force their clients to use ALL of their services, to make money off their customers. This is disgusting. This is also further displayed in the way they changed their Vitality reward points to Discovery Miles. Although the prices of rewards increased at more than a 1 to 10 ratio, they only converted members' points at a ratio of 1 to 6. This devalues the amount of points that clients had, and furthermore, this new system makes it much more difficult for clients to earn the same rewards that they did previously. It is clear that Discovery only wants to make money from their customers. Now, I am not only about to cancel both my Vitality and gym membership, but I am also looking at other insurance companies. Discovery is losing customers.
