Discovery does not care about your Mental health

On the 8th of May I called in to get an authorization number as I had been booked into Akeso. I enquired if discovery covers Akeso I was told yes that I still have the 21 days available. I asked if everything was covered in hospital, my psychiatrist, my psychologist and medication I was told yes, it will come out of the in hospital. I then inquired if the 15 days are part of this, I was advised "No, the 15 days is for OUT PATIENT"

NOW... Discovery used 13 days of the 15 OUTPATIENT

Please explain, HOW, does Discovery use the days that is classified as Outpatient days?

I was specifically told all sessions with the psychiatrist and psychologist will be deducted as in hospital.

I call discovery this morning and query this, I get told it is either or Either I use the 21 days in hospital or the 15 days.

Discovery prides it's self in Mental health..... Where I work, we have sessions once a month with discovery in regards to mental health THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH!! When I ask to speak to the manager, I was put on hold, consultant then comes back and says I am going through to the manager, Siyanda. I speak to Siyanda only to find out that she is a customer service consultant. I was **** too, not once but twice.

These consultants being FAIS compliant, and should be practicing " Honesty and Integrity" did not!

I work for the insurance industry I am very aware of FAIS compliance and rules around that

So lying twice to me is ok as per them.

Hhmmmm I think I need to get hold of the powers that be. I will be going to my Compliance department at work to enquire how to take further.
