Wife need Solus sticks.<br> I send form.<br> You say you let me know in 3 days.<br> 10 days later you no reply.<br> I call.<br> You say you email wife.Wife blind.<br> You say Doctor needs to fill in form.<br> Doctor fill in form.<br> I send form.<br> You not know who form is for because no ID.<br> Me angry.<br> This more than month now.<br> Me go medical counsel.

By way of background, Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs) are legislated and every medical scheme in SA is required by law to fund a pre-defined list of approximately 270 conditions and 27 chronic conditions. The level of cover is equivalent to that which is available in State.
The Chronic Illness Benefit (CIB) covers 27 conditions on all plans as prescribed by legislation. The same legislation permits schemes to compile lists of medications called formularies, which complies with guidelines issued by the Council for Medical Schemes. Medicines on the list are safe, clinically appropriate and cost-effective for the treatment of the specified conditions. To ensure cover in full, medicines on the scheme's formulary should be used and obtained from a Designated Service Provider (DSP).
I confirmed that we will fund the Solus Sticks up to the Chronic Drug Amount (CDA) from the Chronic Illness Benefit (CIB) as this item is not listed on the formulary. I confirm this funding decision cannot be changed and I am sorry that I could not provide you with a different outcome to your query.
