Discovery Dictates Emergencies not patients

my wife was pre-auth to give birth on 26/05. however on 25/04 around 1am she could not walk & had severe cramps. i immediately drove to the clinic about 30km from home, upon nearing the clinic i was told by the DR that she would not be admitted at genesis as she is pre-term & will have to be taken to parklane as this is the facility used by the Dr for emergencies. this is now around 2am i drive straight to parklane. she was admitted and practically crawled into the birth ward and delivered. the baby was put into nicu afterwards. the Dr had written a motivation for the emergency scenario and i got a call from a lady at discovery who said that i will be liable for the delta fee as i had used a non-delta facility even though it was a emergency. she then tells me over the phone that i should have went to donald gordon or brenthurst. mind you i have no idea where these hospitals are and i was sent to parklane from genesis. i asked her if there was maternity facilities at these other hospitals and her response was that she will have to call & check. she had the leisure of the entire day to check and then calls to say that i should have went to brenthurst as they have maternity. Now please tell me heartless discovery if i have the leisure of checking maternity hospitals at 1am with a wife in extreme pain and having to drive on the n12 where almost daily a ******* occurs. this is pure tactics of discovery wanting to dictate to you what is a emergency & what is not from behind a desk in some office. they even refuse to pay the doula even after i had enquired and was told that it would be covered. as for other claims in hospital they want to have the final say as to what to pay as if they are the DR or patient. i am so fed up and seriously people need to be treated better then being held to ransom by discovery
