Discovery Chronic Medication Lies About Coverage

Hi In Oct/Nov 2021 my husband and myself app**** for our medication to be covered on the Chronic Health Plan as we were advised by our psychiatrist as this would be a long term ongoing basis with the both of us. Both of our applications were rejected on the basis that this was not in line with our plan. I have just visited the website again to fill out the request yet again for 2022, still with full support of our psychiatrist, only to see on your page clearly stating that this can be covered across ALL plans. I even phoned in to the call centre after the fact to enquire why we were not approved and we were told the same story about the plan, even though we had moved 1 plan up. We were told this is only feasible for people on one of the comprehensive or business type plans. Depression and Anxiety are very real factors here and I cannot understand your ability to overlook such and then full on lie to us about why we were not approved. I am now in the process of applying yet again as we cannot afford for these costs to keep coming out of our savings, especially since we contribute R7220 to Discovery every single month! Let me also be clear that I am aware that perhaps not ALL my or my husband's medication might be covered, but surely the mental health support in itself which are both S5 or S6 medications and have full approval and backing from our psychiatrist?? Honestly appalled at the lengths Discovery employees will go to to NOT help considering, hence the purpose of this review.
