Discovery admin overules medical advice in emergency ICU
For a company that claims to go the extra mile during this covid outbreak be very careful. My wife was admitted into ICU with covid and the doctor prescribed several Gas Blood Profiles per day as she was very very sick. Apparently now Discovery refuse to pay for this as they believe one per day is sufficient. I am left owing R7500 to the lab. Its a sorry day when a medical admin overrules an ICU doctor fighting for someone's life. Shame on you Discovery.

13 Jul 2021, 16:02Thank you, I have since confirmed with the specialist that the additional tests were required as this was a critical life threatening emergency undertaken in ICU and is very common in these sort of emergencies.
