Discovery

I am very annoyed with the treatment we received from Discovery after I injured my back in September 2022 leaving me in excruciating pain across my back and down the whole of my left leg. At this point, I now realise I should have gone to the ER and let them admit me so ER fee, ward stay until all the tests where carried out and paid for including MRI by Discovery. Silly me not want to be unfair with Discovery I went to my GP who sent me for x-rays (paid by us) and stated an operation was required. I finally found a Surgeon and went to him on the 12th October and was immediately sent for an MRI as the x-ray did not give him enough information. I was assured by both Surgeon and the Radiologist department that Discovery will pay at least part of the MRI if not all. On the 14th Oct I had a mocro-Discectomy + Neurolysis and now fully recovered. Imagine my horror when I get an account from the Radiologist for full amount of said MRI which may I add is well on the way to our monthly pension. My husband has been in constant contact with Discovery and done everything they have asked, motivation letter from Surgeon, also a form that was emailed to us for our Surgeon to fill in, done and sent to Discovery. We were then told they would not pay because they have not received a diagnosis from the Radiologist, we got this and emailed it to Discovery and now received notification that it will not be paid because of a wrong code. We have no control of codes that are put on forms etc but we are now being penalised for something we could nothing about. This has just been a nightmare and I would advice people to go to ER and get booked in and get everything paid for. Discovery shame on you.
