It is not often that our government outperforms the private sector! I'm 75 and have been a Discovery member for many years.

Hello Discovery

A couple of days ago I was notified by SMS from Government to go for my jab this morning at the Geneva Clinic (George) which I did. Everything was well-organised and I asked a staff member whether Discovery did the organisation and she said "No, it was the government".

And so I ask myself, "why was it necessary to register for vaccination with Discovery as well?"

The answer I received from Naledi Mpeke at Discovery:

"Our tailored journey will include:

Where you are in the queue to get vaccinated What to expect and how to prepare for your COVID-19 vaccination Notification of when you need to go for your second dose (if you receive a two-dose vaccine) An internationally accredited COVID-19 vaccination certificate."

Apart from the discourtesy of not reading my mail and replying with a form letter, I and my friend, also a Discovery member, were not informed of any of this and I pay them R6 000pm! Discovery could have saved us members hundreds of thousands perhaps millions it they just let the government get on with the job.
