Discovering the lies

I recently tried to change my medical aid plan as it has become too expensive for me. The Discovery consultant at work advised me on a new more affordable plan and confirmed that it will take effect from the 1st of March. The next day Discovery emailed me saying I can not change my plan because I do not stay further than 50km away from the nearest hospital. Looks like when you sign up with Discovery, you sign up for life and you can not change your plan again to suit your needs. Even though they do advise you on how to change your plan on their website.
